Bachelor of Science in Biology:
Ecology Track

This track focuses on the interaction of organisms with one other and with their physical environment. It is aimed at students who are interested in general ecology (including those interested in terrestrial systems). Examples of careers available to students choosing this track are:

• agriculture
• environmental protection and conservation
• natural resource management
• habitat remediation and restoration
• field ecology
• outdoor recreation and public education

In addition, students will complete at least 45 semester credit hours of course work in the Ecology Track. Twenty-four semester credit hours are required ecology core courses; the other twenty-one hours are ecology electives. A student (in consultation with his or her Faculty Mentor and Academic Advisor) selects appropriate electives to personalize the Blank Ecology Track Degree Plan. Important Note: Laboratory Safety Seminar (SMTE 0091) is a co-requisite course for all courses in the Department of Life Sciences that have a laboratory component.
