The Biology Minor

Undergraduate students majoring in other academic fields may earn a minor in biology by completing 20 semester credit hours in the following courses.

Required Courses (8 SCH):

Electives (12 SCH)—students select three courses from the following:

BIOL 3414 Vertebrate Biology 4

Alternative junior- or senior-level biology courses may be used to satisfy the minor requirements with prior approval of the Chair of the Department of Life Sciences. At least six hours must be upper-level biology courses, and biology courses for non-science majors cannot be used to fulfill the biology minor.


Important Note: Laboratory Safety Seminar (SMTE 0091) is a co-requisite course for all courses in the Department of Life Sciences that have a laboratory component.
