Bachelor of Science in Biology:
General University Requirements

All undergraduate students in the Biology Program follow the basic University Degree Requirements for foreign language, for computer literacy, for residency, and for completion of First-Year Seminar and the University Core Curriculum. The current Undergraduate Catalog contains information about the university, its programs and its requirements, as well as listing descriptions of all courses.

First-Year Seminar—0-2 Semester Credit Hours (SCH)

Depending on the number of college credit hours an incoming student has taken, he or she may need to take no, one, or both First-Year Seminar courses. To find out more about this, read the section of the current Undergraduate Catalog entitled “First-Year Seminar.”

*Students who fulfill their Biology Core Statistics requirement by taking Applied Probability and Statistics (MATH 3342), will use its prerequisite, Calculus I (MATH 2413), as the University Core Mathematics requirement.

**Students in the 8-12 Life Science Education Concentration must use General Psychology (PSYC 2301) to fulfill this requirement.
