Research Interests

Research interests include the distribution and ecology of seaweed communities along the Texas coast, coral reefs of the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and Yucatan Peninsula, systematic and molecular botany of green algae (Chlorophyta; Caulerpa sp.), Flora of the Texas Costal Bend and Bacteria Source Tracking (BST) of E. coli in estuarine and marine environments using Pulse Field Gel Electrophoresis.
