Narrative Summary:

Roy Lehman is a native of Corpus Christi and the Texas Coastal Bend. He is currently an Associate Professor of Biology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi specializing in Botany and Marine Science. His usual teaching assignments include Marine Botany, Plant Taxonomy, Plant Ecology, Limnology, Phycology and Field & Sampling Techniques. His research interests include ecological studies in Phycology (seaweeds, plankton & fresh-water algae), wetland/coastal vegetation studies, coral reef ecology, terrestrial roadside plants of Texas and desert flora including cacti. He is presently conducting research using Pulse Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) to identify sources of E. coli bacteria in coastal waters (Texas General Land Office), chloroplast DNA systematics and taxonomy of Seaweeds and coastal vegetation, Seaweeds of the East and West Flower Gardens, phyto - bioremediation and coastal plankton studies. Recently most of his time has been spent in the construction of the Laguna Madre Field Research Station, http://www.sci.tamucc.edu/pals/triada/esci/station.htm
